Why do bad things happen to good people?
Last week in class during the discussion a question wad raised by Professor Johnson that got me thinking. Why do bad things happen to good people? It is in the news every day that an innocent person was killed in a car accident or raped. The more I think about it I feel like the explanation to this is that there are more bad people in this world than good people. I realize that is a bold statement but I truely feel that this is the only explanation to the question raised by professor Johnson. An exaple to prove my point is if an innocent boy is just driving home from a ball game and is struck by a drunk driver, he dies. Say this boy was a straight a student and had his plans for college all planned out, had a great future ahead of him but had his life taken by a bad person, a lousy drunk who has no life so he drinks and drinks and drinks. Another example is if an innocent girl is walking her dog down the street and a car pulls up and kidnaps her. Takes her to their home and rapes her. This is a terrible thing but these things happen in our world every day. The reason she was raped is because a bad person decided they wanted to do this to her. It just seems unfair to the good people in the world because there are more bad people than good people. I would like to hear other peoples opinions on this thought. Do you think there are more good people or bad people in the world? Is this the answer to Professor Johnson's question?
